About Sarah Regensburger

(she/her) ————- NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

I like to say I took the “scenic route” to Social Work. I previously worked as a high school science teacher and peer support specialist after finishing my undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill. My experiences cultivated a passion for seeing others empower themselves to climb life’s mountains to achieve goals. I finished my Master of Social Work at North Carolina State University. I’m currently a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA).

I specialize in adult and adolescent individual therapy, with a specific focus on emerging adults (16-35 yrs old) and facilitating group therapy. I have worked in a primary care setting and in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I utilize a mixture of evidence-based practices to tailor psychotherapy sessions to the client and the client’s needs. I have pursued training with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems.

Specialties include: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-worth, trauma, stress management, life transitions, substance use, and emotion regulation. I enjoy working with diverse populations with various ethnic/cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and age groups. I am affirming of neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming.

My goal is to create a strong, compassionate relationship with clients to promote exploration of strengths and challenges. Deciding to go to therapy or continue therapy after a bad experience can be a scary process. It takes courage and self-empowerment to seek help. You do not have to go through your journey alone.

I also regularly maintain my mental health through working with my own therapist. I also consistently seek professional consultation with peers and supervisors.
