Alies Barton
(She/Her) Accepting New Clients
Alies Barton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults (ages 16+). Her clinical background includes extensive post-graduate psychoanalytic training, somatic-based training, and specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Alies specializes in working with mood disorders, trauma, perinatal and postpartum concerns, chronic pain, and addiction.
Alies takes a thoughtful, integrative approach to therapy that is relational and attachment-based, with an emphasis on safety, emotional attunement, and the therapeutic relationship. She incorporates mindfulness and somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and deepen self-awareness. She views psychotherapy as a collaborative process that fosters insight, strengthens relationships, and supports meaningful, sustainable change. Central to her work is the belief that self-compassion is essential to healing, and Alies helps clients develop a kinder, more understanding relationship with themselves.
Outside of her clinical work, Alies is a mother of three and values time spent with family, being outdoors, movement, and connection. She has a deep love of yoga and believes strongly in the importance of self-care as a foundation for emotional health and overall well-being, both personally and professionally.
